My first mountain bike race outside India and then it’s the Bike Transalp! Madness. I still can’t believe that my long-cherished wish will now come true in July 2018 thanks to a raffle on Facebook! Here I actually won a team entry througha lottery of Stageraces.com.
Hinrich will be at the start with me. I met Hinrich at my first participation of the nine-day Hero MTB Himalaya in 2015. At that time I was still a total novice in the mountain bike marathon race and Hinrich, who himself was living in India at that time, had taken me under his wing, reserved my tent at every stage and told me a lot about his participation in the Bike Transalp race.
At that time it was clear to me: I had to go there! The fact that it is now in a team with Hinrich is of course amazing!
The preparation is currently underway and in addition to hard training sessions on the home trainer and in the Himalayas, of course the entire logistics etc. must be organized.
In the following weeks, and especially during the race itself from 15.7. until 21.7 I will keep you up to date with articles and posts about training, preparation and the racing experience.
