Overview
This Himalayan India trip is all about getting away from it all and spending several days in nature. Because nature is powerful and offers us the opportunity to get back in touch with ourselves. The Himalayan mountains are particularly powerful with their spiritual magic. Daily exercise also gets our thoughts moving and allows our inner chaos to sort itself out. This usually results in clarity and an inner sense of tidiness. Surrounded by the power and tranquillity of the Himalayas, the trip offers the opportunity to come back to yourself, to take time for your own inner processes, to recharge your batteries in nature far away from everyday life and, with the help of powerful coaching exercises and individual coaching sessions, to sort out your own issues and go home with more clarity regarding your own goals. Daily mindfulness exercises and meditations help you to come into your own. The trip is rounded off with a stay at the Buddhist Mcleod Ganj near Dharamshala
You will be accompanied by the trained and experienced coach, yoga teacher and mountain guide Meike Hauser and her team.
Program
Day 1 (Saturday) Departure from Germany, optional hotel accommodation at the airport possible
Day 2 (Sunday) Arrival in Delhi and flight to Dharamshala and arrival in Mcleod Ganj
International flights usually arrive in Delhi in the middle of the night so that the group can take the first flight early in the morning to Dharamshala in the Himalayas. Today, the first thing on the agenda is “arriving”. You are welcome to take part in an optional yoga class at your accommodation.
Day 3 (Monday) Exploring Mcleod Ganj
Meike takes you on a short tour through Mcleod Ganj. Walk around the Dalai Lama Temple together with the Buddhist believers, visit the temple and experience the small town.
Day 4 (Tuesday) -7 (Friday) Hiking Coaching
For four days, we trek through the Himalayan world to small mountain villages, through forests and to sacred lakes with the high snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas always in the background. We sleep in a permanent camp near the village of Kareri, which we reach on foot from Mcloed Ganj. The wonderful camp is located in the middle of nature by a stream and has a toilet and shower block. We sleep in spacious one-man tents. A permanent team provides delicious and nourishing vegetarian meals. On the fourth day, we hike back to Mcleod Ganj (F/M/A)
Day 8 (Saturday) Day in Mcleod Ganj
As a group, we enjoy another day in Mcleod. We visit the Tushita Center for a morning guided Buddhist meditation and a nunnery.
Day 9 (Sunday) Independent departure or onward journey
We will be happy to organize your return journey to Delhi (domestic flight in the morning) or other travel modules.

Hiking coaching and travel companion

Meike Hauser
My name is Meike Hauser, I am 36 years old and live in the beautiful Allgäu region. I have always loved nature and spend every free minute in the mountains hiking or mountain biking. As a former manager, I was passionate about supporting and developing people. When I had to leave the company after a burnout, I started to look into coaching and personal development, which not only helped me a lot, but also sparked my passion for it. So I trained as a systemic coach in the great outdoors and started to build my heart business as a nature and hiking coach. For a year now, I have been accompanying people in nature and on mountain hikes in the Alps to work on their individual issues. I really enjoy this because I can combine my two passions and strengths: nature/mountains and supporting people in their development. My heart has been beating for India and the Himalayas for some time now. In recent years, I have traveled India extensively with many internships and further training courses.
Information about trekking in the Indian Himalayas with Chalo! Travel
Mountain guide and trekking team
On all our treks we have at least one (for larger groups of 6 participants or two) trained local mountain guides. Our mountain guides have all completed at least the Indian mountaineering training, many of them have also taken part in the advanced courses.
You are familiar with the trekking routes and know the terrain excellently. Our mountain guides all speak English.
All our team members have been working with us for years, are very friendly and always strive to provide our guests with a great trekking experience. Their English is rather mediocre or non-existent, but this is not necessarily a hindrance to communicating with them.
Trekking routes
The trekking routes are designed for the skills of our guests and are all feasible for a person with a good fitness level, unless otherwise mentioned. The daily routes are between five and eight hours long (with breaks) and an average increase of around 500-800 metres of altitude is completed.
In between, rivers may have to be crossed or crossed. The paths are partly well developed, but sometimes also almost non-existent. On our trekking routes there are hardly any villages in between, so we will take enough food for the whole tour.
