With this article I would like to send you heartfelt Christmas greetings! After a surprising winter consumption delayed my departure from India, I am now healthy and happy with my family in the warm house with light and hot running water in Germany. (Just before my departure, we had heavy snow fall with a powercut lasting for 18 days).
I am happy to be able to spend this contemplative time with my family, because we have not seen each other for 10 months!
Here, so comfortably cuddled up in front of the fireplace, it seems fitting to let my year 2014 revive again!
For me, 2014 was an eventful, important and towering year!
Everything started with the preparation for my business as a tour operator for adventure and adventure trips to India. I took part in a course for young entrepreneurs for almost 2 months and in March (after a few delays) it was time: Chalo! Travels was founded!
This was also the beginning of my time in India. Jogi and I explored Kerala by bike in February for future tours and then we met Franzi (my sister) and a friend in Goa. Together we were climbing in Hampi, were hunted by elephants near Mysore, celebrated Holi in Delhi and spent cold days in Manali.
My season in Manali was great!
Not only did I conduct my first ever booked trek and I organised an India trip for my friends Anke and Manu, I also had a very successful Yoga trek.
In addition, I had the opportunity to take part in long treks from Spiti to Ladakh and an expedition to the Hanuman Tibba summit.
I also learned to organize the treks completely myself and taught travelers daily in yoga through teaching drop in classes in Manali.
Not to forget that I moved into my new apartment! A nice bright room with a bathroom and a great view from the 4th floor!
Summer passed quickly and I enjoyed the quieter days in October in Manali.
I spent November in Indore in a yoga ashram. During the one-month 300 hours of yoga teacher training, I was able to greatly expand and intensify my knowledge and meditation practice!
After three nice but cold weeks (in Manali it snowed so much that the entire power grid and traffic was paralyzed), I am now happy in Germany and look forward to the next adventurous year 2015 with lots of yoga trekking, mountain biking and fun!
