Ulun Daran Temple

Ulun Daran Temple is a major Hindu Shaivite temple in Bali, Indonesia. The temple complex is on the shores of Lake Beratan in the mountains near Bedugul. The water from the lake serves the entire region in the outflow area; downstream there are many smaller water temples that are specific to each irrigation association.

Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot is claimed to be the work of the 16th-century religious figure Dang Hyang Nirartha, who was significantly influenced by Hinduism and who allegedly spent a night there in the course of his extensive travels in Bali, Lombok, and Sumbawa. Nirartha is also worshipped at Tanah Lot.

Batukaru Temple

The temple is one of the “six sanctuaries of the world” which are among the holiest places of worship in Bali.

It is also one of the nine directional temples  marking the eight cardinal directions) to which is added the center point. These temples are meant to protect Bali from evil spirits; among those nine, Batukaru stands for the west direction.

Jatiluwih

Jatiluwih is famous for its vast and terraced green rice fields, creating a landscape like a mesmerizing natural tapestry. This view is made even more captivating by the majestic backdrop of Mount Batukaru. However, Jatiluwih is not just about aesthetics. Behind its beauty lies the centuries-old subak system, a traditional Balinese irrigation system that UNESCO recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2012.

Tenganan Village

Tenganan Village is one of three Bali Aga villages – (the oldest and sacred villages in Bali), along with Trunyan and Sembiran . Bali Aga is a village that still maintains a lifestyle whose social order is based on traditional village customs passed down from their ancestors. The shape and size of buildings and yards, the arrangement of building layouts, and even the location of temples are all built according to traditional customs that have been passed down from generation to generation.
