I myself probably look at least as much forward to the yoga retreat in the Rajasthan Shri Jasnath Ashram as my guests! After all, I know the ashram and the ashram family so well, that a trip there is like a homecoming. The ashram itself has a wonderful quiet, but also powerful atmosphere and after each visit I return to the “real” world full of new energy. The small and well-kept ashram is located in the heart of the Tharr Desert, 120 km away from the remarkable “blue” town of Jodhpur, worth a trip during the retreat.
Otherwise, the two weeks will be characterized by yoga classes, workshops, Ayurvedic treatments, good food and sufficient relaxation. And all this over the Christmas holidays and the New Year.
At the moment I am eagerly planning the retreat for my guests: develop yoga classes, workshops and be in close contact with the guru of the ashram and the ashram management. In addition to workshops on chakras, yoga lifestyle, mantra and meditation techniques, there will be also an introduction to Ayurveda. After a consultation, one Ayurvedic wellness treatment can be chosen daily from the Ayurvedic menu. The treatments are performed by the experienced Ayurvedic therapists.
In addition, the guru himself will give yoga nidra classes and answer questions about the yoga philosophy during the evening satsang. We will talk about the fire ceremony and other Hindu rituals. A surprise evening with traditional fire dance is planned for all guests.
During our two-week stay we are provided with delicious vegetarian food by ashram chef Pappu. The vegetables come directly from the ashram’s own organic garden.
We will stay in comfortable rooms in the main house of the ashram – depending on your choice in a single or double room.
I look forward to the organized ashram days, which start early in the morning with the first yoga class and end in the evening with the daily fire ceremony and Khirtan singing in the temple.
