21-Day Yoga Tour to India’s Holiest Places
Together with one of our experienced yoga instructors and an India tour guide, you can explore the traditional Indian reasons why you should live and practice yoga at some of northern India’s most important pilgrimage sites. Take a dip in the sacred Ganga River in Rishikesh, take part in an Arti fire ceremony in Varanasi, live in Ashrams in Rajasthan and Rishikesh, listen to the enchanting chants of the Sikhs in the Golden Temple, meditate with Buddhist monks and be part of a sacred ceremony in Pushkar.An all places you will either attend yoga and meditation classes there. , or you will have lessons with your accompanying yoga teacher in beautiful places.
This trip takes place twice a year in March and September and is accompanied by Sarah or Noor.
Program
Day 1 – Arrival in Delhi
After your arrival in Delhi, you will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, there is time to arrive, relax and leave the long distances behind. Delhi with its complexity, smells and sounds is the powerful prelude to this journey.

Day 2 – Old Delhi & Jama Masjid
Today you can immerse yourself in the heart of Old Delhi. You will visit the Jama Masjid, one of the largest and most important mosques in India. As you walk through the narrow streets of Old Delhi, you will experience the vibrant life, markets, spices and everyday chaos as a conscious practice of presence and mindfulness.

Day 3 – Train journey to Rishikesh
In the morning you say goodbye to Delhi and travel by train towards Rishikesh – to the holy Ganges and the “yoga capital” of India. After your arrival, you will move into your ashram and be introduced to the daily routine. The peaceful surroundings, yoga and meditation allow you to slowly immerse yourself in the rhythm of pilgrimage.

Day 4 – Rishikesh
The day starts early with meditation and yoga. Rishikesh is a place of spiritual power where yoga is not just a practice, but a way of life. In addition to asana practice and meditation, there is time for walks along the Ganges, visits to temples or simply being.

Day 5 – Rishikesh
Another day in the ashram deepens your experience. Rituals, yoga practice and quiet moments alternate. Optionally, you can take part in Ganga ceremonies or retreat to reflect on what you have experienced.

Day 6 – Rishikesh & overnight train to Amritsar
The morning is still dedicated to ashram practice. In the evening you board the train to Amritsar. The train journey is part of the experience – encounters, listening, letting go.

Day 7 – Amritsar & Golden Temple
Today you can visit the Golden Temple, the spiritual center of the Sikh religion. You will experience the atmosphere of this unique place and – if possible – have an insight into the communal karma yoga in the temple kitchen, where thousands of people are fed free of charge every day.

Day 8 – Drive to McLeod Ganj
You travel on towards the Himalayas to McLeod Ganj, the exile center of the Dalai Lama. The journey takes you through mountain landscapes and ends in a completely different, quieter world.

Day 9 – McLeod Ganj
Yoga, meditation and Buddhist influences characterize this day. You visit temples, monasteries or enjoy walks in the countryside. The connection between yoga and Buddhism is particularly noticeable here.

Day 10 – McLeod Ganj
Another day of in-depth study. Time for practice, exchange, silence and personal reflection. McLeod Ganj invites you to question and expand your own spiritual understanding.

Day 11 – Flight to Varanasi
Today you travel by flight to one of the oldest permanently inhabited cities in the world: Varanasi. On arrival, you move into your inn not far from the corridor.

Day 12 – Varanasi & Ganges
In the early morning, you will experience the rituals of the city on a boat trip on the Ganges. Life, death and spirituality are closely intertwined here. Temple visits, discussions and observations characterize this intensive day.

Day 13 – Varanasi & train ride to Agra
In the morning there is time for further exploration. In the afternoon, you will travel on by train to Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal.

Day 14 – Taj Mahal & train to Pushkar
Early in the morning you visit the Taj Mahal – a symbol of love, devotion and transience. Then continue by train to Pushkar.

Pushkar is one of the holiest places in India. You visit the Brahma temple, take part in a sacred ceremony by the lake and enjoy the peaceful, spiritual atmosphere of this small desert town.

Day 16 – Transfer to Shri Jasnath Ashram
Today you reach the Shri Jasnath Ashram. You will be introduced to everyday life in the ashram, which is characterized by yoga, meditation, prayer and community.

Day 17 – Ashram everyday life
A whole day in the rhythm of the ashram: early practice, meditation, karma yoga and silence. Simple living as a spiritual teaching.

Day 18 – Ashram everyday life
Deepening the ashram experience. Time for retreat, conversation and integration of previous travel experiences.

You leave the ashram and travel to Jodhpur. A cooking course awaits you there, where you can experience vegetarian Indian cuisine at first hand.

Day 20 – Jodhpur & flight to Delhi

A lot of curiosity and flexibility is required. The yoga classes are suitable for all levels.

Yoga lessons and travel companion
Whenever possible, we will offer 1-2 yoga classes a day with asana, pranayama, relaxation and meditation practice. Either we take part in the yoga classes in the ashrams or schools themselves, or your accompanying yoga teacher will teach the classes.
The trip is accompanied by Sarah or Noor.
