What do I take with me on my trekking tour/expedition or bike tour through the Indian Himalayas?

After a four-day trek we arrived in Manali yesterday. This time we trekked with an american family of four, who were rather less prepared for a trekking tour in the Indian Himalayas, which today leads me to create a “pack list for treks and expeditions in the Indian Himalayas and Cycling tours in India”.

Here is my packing list for our Himalayan tours:

  1. Shoes

– Hiking boots with a good profile

– Slats or sandals for the camp

  1. Clothes

– Underwear (sports bra)

– Hiking socks

– A few thick socks

– Functional underwear

– T-shirts

– Sweater (fleece) or fleece jacket

– Cap

– Sun hat

– Scarf

– On long treks gloves, during expeditions 2 glove pairs (thin and thick pair)

– Short pants

– Long pants

– Jacket

– Rain jacket

– In addition for our bike tours:

– 2 short and 1 long cycling pants

– 3 bike tops

– Bicycle gloves short and long

– small backpack

– Bicycle shoes (Pedales for cleats) or sneakers

– saddle, if you prefer your own
